Seeking Sanctuary is a 30-minute video. In its most straightforward sense, it chronicles the 2019 season of an independent wrestling troupe based in a converted church in a small town in eastern Pennsylvania. In another, it's about the crusade of former professional wrestler, Jon Trosky, to shake loose from the superficiality of WWE and return independent wrestling to its roots in performance art. More importantly, it is the story of a group of twenty-somethings creating art in a region systematically starved of educational and economic resources by a hostile status quo. Finally, set deep in Trump country, it illustrates a younger generation that may be economically deprived, but, contrary to coastal mythology, is free of the bigotry the Trump name has come to stand for.
